Tryout Request FormBAC holds 3 tryouts per year prior to the start of our Fall, Winter & Spring/Summer Seasons. Tryouts are usually held in the last week of August, mid-December, and mid-April. A coach will reach out in the weeks leading up to your scheduled tryout with more specific information.

Boys: Jammers or brief — no board shorts or trunks.
Girls: One-piece suit — no frills, skirts, or two-pieces.
Required for swimmers with long hair. Silicone or latex — any cap is fine.
Any comfortable swim goggles that fit well and provide clear vision in the water.
Swimmers must be able to follow instructions from a coach on deck in a group setting with 8–15 swimmers in the water. The ability to listen, focus, and respond to coaching cues is fundamental at every level of the program.
Each age group has specific technical and fitness benchmarks. Coaches evaluate stroke technique, turns, starts, and age-appropriate training capacity. Each group builds on the skills of younger groups.

Our Summer Swim Team is a seasonal program offered only from May through July. This team is looking for swimmers with strong listening skills who are water safe and able to complete the tryout. We will be teaching the necessary skills to prepare swimmers to join the year-round team. It's a great entry point for newer competitive swimmers.
