Lead Age Group Coach
Fahmi Trabelsi is a swim coach and former international competitive swimmer from Tunisia, bringing an international perspective and a strong technical foundation to athlete development.
Swimming has been a defining part of Fahmi’s life from an early age, teaching him discipline, resilience, consistency, and the value of having a clear direction. His competitive journey began in Tunisia and later took him through Europe and the United States, shaping the philosophy he brings to coaching today.
Fahmi holds a Bachelor of Science equivalent in Athletic Training – Swimming, based on a U.S. academic credential evaluation of his studies at the Ksar-Said Higher Institute of Sport and Physical Education in Tunisia. He has worked with swimmers across different ages and ability levels, from developing young athletes to competitive swimmers.
At Burlingame Aquatic Club, Fahmi brings a coaching approach centered on technical development, structure, confidence, and long-term progression. He believes athletes develop best when they understand not only what they are being asked to do, but why they are doing it.
His goal is to help swimmers become technically stronger, increasingly independent, and confident in themselves while maintaining their enjoyment of the sport.
For Fahmi, coaching is about more than producing faster swimming. It is about giving athletes tools they can carry forward.
“Swimming gave me structure when I needed it most. Now I have the opportunity to pass that forward to the next generation.”
