About Us

The Burlingame Aquatic Club (BAC) mission is to serve our community by providing excellent aquatic opportunities. We believe there is a place in aquatics for everyone. We strive to make this belief a reality for anyone who walks through our doors. BAC was founded in 2000 to focus on competitive aquatics for youth and adults, with very successful programs in Club Swimming (USS), Masters Swimming (USMS), Masters Water Polo and Club Water Polo (USWP). Many of our athletes achieved notable success on a national level. Beginning in 2011, BAC began managing all community and competitive programs (except high school athletics) on behalf of the City of Burlingame. Our programs expanded to include programs such as open swim, swim lessons, summer camps, adult aerobics and community events. Our goals are to facilitate growth and development at all skill levels for athletes of all ages from 6 months. As a nonprofit organization, we have very strong loyalty to our community, our neighbors, and all of the families who participate in our programs. The main aquatic center we utilize is owned by the San Mateo Union High School District (SMUHSD) and is located on the campus of Burlingame High School. We work in close collaboration with the City of Burlingame’s Parks & Recreation Department. Our 50m pool ranges from 3-13 feet and accommodates lap and recreational swimming. The wading/instructional pool is 3.5 feet. The Executive Director (ED) reports to the Board of Directors and manages all aspects of the BAC.
