Tom Lo

Club Swimming Head Assistant Coach

Tom joined BAC in September 2005 as the club’s Head Assistant Swimming Coach. Before Tom was hired here at BAC, he was the Head / Assistant coach with the Daly City Dolphins from 2000 – 2005. Before becoming a USA swimming coach, he was also a private swimming instructor and lifeguard from 1997 - 2000. He has been involved with the sport of swimming since he was twelve years old and decided to begin coaching in order to give back to the sport he loves. 2008 marks Tom’s eighth year as a USA swimming coach.

As a coach Tom has had success at the highest levels of swimming. He has trained athletes who have garnered NRT times in both individual and relay events, placing those athletes in the nation’s top-16 rankings. He has also coached athletes to numerous PRT times in multiple events, placing those athletes in the Pacific Zone top-10. Many of his swimmers have been selected to participate in various all-star meets, including the Developmental All-Star Meet, the Quad All-Star Meet, and the Western Zone All-Star Meet. Tom has coached many of these same young athletes to High-Point awards at local and high level meets, including the Far Western Championship Meet. He was selected to coach the Developmental All-Star team in 2003 & 2004, the Quad All-Star team in 2005, and the Western Zone All-Star team in 2004. He plans to share his dedication to swimming and introduce young athletes to the world of swimming for many years to come.

Tom is from Honolulu, Hawaii and is a 2004 graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Psychology, concentrating in Child Development. When he is not coaching, he owns/manages his online business and he likes to swim and bike to stay healthy.
