Lindsay Holland |
Lindsay began playing water polo at Punahou High School in Hawaii in 1991. She earned a four-year scholarship to Stanford University where she played for four years, spending three of those years as a co-captain of the team. During her sophomore, junior, and senior years she won a Duke Kahanamoku Scholarship, an award given to students from Hawaii who are competitive athletes at four-year colleges. Her senior year, she won The Donald Kennedy Award, an award presented to the Stanford senior athlete who best exhibits the combination of excellent academics, strong athletic ability, and community service. It is the highest honor from the Stanford Athletic Department. For the last five years, Lindsay was both an English teacher and the JV girls’ water polo coach at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View. During her coaching career there, she guided the JV team through two undefeated seasons, and she assisted the Varsity team in four consecutive CCS victories. What she loves most about water polo is the teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship that the game requires. Lindsay is currently
pursuing her long-time dream of being a writer and is working towards
earning her MFA in creative writing at the University of San Francisco. All-Academic All-American,
