Winter Overview
BAC's Winter Water Polo Program offers opportunities for both beginning and returning players to improve their individual skills while simultaneously developing a stronger sense of the game as a whole. Perfecting positional skills and techniques of movement is the primary focus of the season. All participants will receive specialized instruction catered to their ability levels, and will also learn how to function as a member of a team. As each player develops and progresses, he or she will gain further knowledge of more complex and challenging skills while learning to apply the basics within the proper context. Each club member will be assigned to a certain playing group based on a combination of experience, ability, age, and degree of commitment. Practices will be run separately for boys and girls for high-school aged athletes; practices for middle-school aged athletes will be run both separately and in a co-ed setting. Each group will practice twice during the week. Local competitions will be held on selected weekends throughout the season.
BAC will hold Skill Workouts this season for all high school athletes. These Skill Workouts are an opportunity for athletes to further improve skills necessary for their specific position. For information on this element of the winter season, please visit the Skill Workouts page.
As a club, BAC aspires to instill the values of commitment, teamwork, and respect in all of its athletes. All participants are expected to bring a positive and respectful attitude to ensure a healthy and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone. In addition, all athletes are requested to always bear in mind that they are working as part of a collective entity. Regular attendance at both practice and competitions is crucial for the success of the team and its members. Without the commitment and dedication of all participants, the team may not achieve its fullest potential.
Please join us this fall by participating in one of the most enjoyable and rewarding sports in the country!
