Our swim lesson program is designed to meet the needs of children of all ages and ability levels. We have designed our program around the principle that there is a place for everyone to learn, regardless of past experience or training. Our staff is dedicated to making sure that each child that comes into our program is given the attention, support, and instruction that they both deserve and need.
Our lesson program runs year-round,so no matter what time of year it is we have a place for you and your family in our program!

Baby & Me (age 6?mo?- 36 mo) |

This is a fun and rewarding experience for both parents and tots! This cheerful class combines water skills and play to create a positive and fun environment. The class is held in a warm water pool. Each child must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Swim diapers are MANDATORY for all non-potty trained tots. Classes will be held rain or shine. (There is only one level of this class.)

Novice (Toddler Groups)
In an effort to simplify registration, BAC has eliminated the level 3 classes, for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Novice I (Ages 2 - 5 years old)
Before entering Novice I, children must be able to enter the water without a parent or family member. This class is best for young children who are new to swim lessons or beginner skills.
This class focuses on gaining confidence around water, reinforces basic water safety, and beginning swimming skills such as splashing, kicking, floating, blowing bubbles, big arms, and going under water. Instructors make the pool feel like a warm and safe place for swimmers to explore and have fun.
These classes are held in the small pool. Novice I swimmers begin class on the stairs. Parents are asked to sit away from the edge of the pool.

Novice II (Age 3- 6 years old)
Before entering Novice 2, swimmers must be able to comfortably float and kick on their front and back with an instructor's assistance.
In this class, children will learn to float, kick, glide, and perform arm strokes unassisted on their front and back. Safety skills are reinforced.
These classes are held in the small pool. Novice 2 swimmers begin class on the stairs or swim docks and will transition to the pool edge when ready. During the lesson, children typically swim about 5 feet independently, or 10 feet with assistance. Parents are asked to sit away from the edge of the pool. In an effort to simplify registration, BAC has eliminated the level 3 classes, for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels.
This class has been rewritten to incorporate Novice 2 and Novice 3 skills. It may take your child more than one session to advance to the Intermediate level.

Intermediate (School Age Groups)
In an effort to simplify registration, BAC has eliminated the level 3 classes, for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Intermediate I (Average?ages are between 4 and 7 years)
Before entering Intermediate I, children must be comfortable in the water and be able to swim or kick 5-10 feet without assistance, as well as kick, float, and glide independently.
In this class, swimmers will improve their glides and kicks, and learn how to do front and back crawl. Side breathing and elementary backstroke is introduced.
These classes are held in the small pool. Intermediate I swimmers begin class on the swim docks and will transition to the pool edge when ready. Kids typically swim about 10 feet at a time. Parents are asked to sit away from the edge of the pool.

Intermediate II (Average ages are between 4 to 8 years old)
Before entering Intermediate 2, swimmers must be able to swim front crawl and back crawl independently for 10-15 feet, and know the basics of side breathing.
In this level, children improve their front and back crawl and side breathing and learn breaststroke kick and dolphin kick. Treading water is introduced.
These classes may be held in small pool or big pool. Intermediate 2 swimmers begin class on the pool edge/wall. Students typically swim about 10-15 yards, or half a lap. Parents are asked to sit away from the edge of the pool.In an effort to simplify registration, BAC has eliminated the level 3 classes, for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Gators (8-12 year olds) NEW Group! |

This level is for beginning and non-swimmers who are older, and have not taken lessons before. This class is set up to take older kids through floating, kicking and basic swimming skills and prepare them for the Advanced group lessons. Students enrolled in this class must not be afraid of the water, but be ready to learn to swim. (Warm pool or Lap pool depending on class and skills introduced.) |

Advanced (School Age Groups)
In an effort to simplify registration, BAC has eliminated the level 3 classes, for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Advanced I (Ages 6 years old and older)
This advanced level is designed for children who have previous swimming experience. Students in this class should be able to perform all the skills in Novice & Intermediate classes.
Before entering Advanced 1, swimmers must be able to swim half a lap, or about 15 yards, of unassisted front crawl, back crawl, dolphin and breaststroke kick, as well as tread for 30 seconds.These classes are held in the big pool; most classes will be held in the shallower lanes. Some days students may transition to the deeper area for treading water, diving and other deep water related skills.
If your child passed Intermediate 2 in the summer. S(he) should be ready to enroll in this class. However, it will take your child more than one session to advance to the next Advanced level.
Advanced 1 Skills Card

Advanced II (Ages 6 years old and older)
This level prepares athletes to further improve on their swimming skills and endurance. This class also introduces athletes to more advanced and competitive style of breaststroke, dolphin kick, and butterfly skills. Stream lining and endurance skills are emphasized.
This level is NOT for swimmers who still need assistance getting across the pool. This level is for confident swimmers that need skills refinement.
Before entering Advanced 2, swimmers must be able to swim a full lap, or 25 yards, of unassisted front crawl, back crawl, and half a lap of breaststroke and dolphin kick. They must also be able to tread for 1 minute.
In this level, children improve their stroke technique for front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke, as well as learn butterfly, flip turns, and a standing dive.
These lessons are taught in the big pool, and swimmers typically swim about 2 laps, or 50 yards, at a time.

Dolphins (Ages 6 years old and over) - Getting Ready for Swim Team
This level is for swimmers who are not quite ready for swim team, but see that as a goal. This level emphasizes endurance swimming and techniques that focus on the competitive strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and front crawl (freestyle) with wall turns, all in a non-competitive environment. Swimmers enrolled in this class should be able to swim two laps freestyle and backstroke, and be familiar with all the competitive strokes. Swimmers at this level should be able to swim 50 yards confidently. If swimmers can not accomplish this yet, we recommend taking the advanced levels of our lesson program prior to registering for this group.
This level is NOT for swimmers who still need assistance getting across the pool. This level is for confident swimmers that need to work on endurance and competitive skills refinement to advance to the more advanced swim team levels. Swimmers that graduate from Dolphin/Sharks should be able to pass onto the Pre-Comp or Barracuda levels of the BAC swim team.
These classes are 45 minutes and are held in the big pool; most classes will be held in the shallower lanes. Some days students may transition to the deeper area for treading water, diving and other deep water related skills.
