Recreation Swimming

BAC offers Recreation Swimming for people of all ages who simply want to enjoy the water! Rec Swim is offered in both the small and large pools.

The small wading pool (kept at approximately 88 degrees) ranges from 2 to 3.5 feet deep and has both stair and ladder entries.

The larger lap pool (kept at approximately 80 degrees) ranges from 3.5 to 12 feet deep and has both ladder entry and handicap entry.

2017 Holidays & Schedule Changes:

  • June 2nd-4th: No Rec Swim (BAC Swim Meet)
  • July 4th: No Rec Swim (adjusted program schedule)

NOTE:

  • The small pool will close on Sunday afternoons at 3:30pm in order to allow for Splash Ball Water Polo classes.
Passes & Fees

Drop-In Entry Fees:

  • Youth (17 & Under): $3/person
  • Adult/Senior (18 & Over): $5/person

Family Pass

  • 20 swim Family Pass = $60
    (NOTE: each swim on the pass is PER PERSON, and *NOT* PER FAMILY)

Please note that all persons entering the facility must pay the drop-in fee or use a pass.

Rec Swim Rules

 

  1. Lifeguards have the authority to enforce any unwritten pool rules at their discretion.

  2. Parents are responsible for supervising their children at all times.  

    1. Children 13 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult (18 years+).

    2. Children 6 years and younger must be within arms reach of an adult in the water.

    3. Children 4 years and younger must wear a swim diaper.

    4. Swim tests are required to access deep water (over head height)

  3. All lesson and program instruction is to be taught by BAC or BHS Staff Members only.  

  4. Locker rooms close 15 minutes after closing the pool. Locker rooms are for BAC patrons only.  

  5. Bathing suits are required; street clothing is not permitted in the pools.

  6. All changing must be done in the privacy of the locker rooms.  No deck changing.  

  7. No running on the pool deck or into the pool.

  8. Only US Coast Guard approved Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) are permitted. Water wings and rings are not approved PFDs.

  9. Diving is ONLY allowed in the 7 ft deep end area. No diving from diving blocks, unless supervised by BAC or BHS staff.  

  10. No smoking, alcohol or glass are allowed on the premises.  No food or gum is allowed in the pool.  

11. Masks, fins, and snorkels are permitted only during lap swim.

12. Cell phone use is strictly prohibited in locker rooms.

13. Photography must be approved by BAC Staff.

14. This is a family-friendly environment; no profanity or horseplay.  

15. Patrons in violation of the rules may be asked to leave the facility.  

NOTE: EVERYONE entering the pool area for Rec Swim must pay, even if they do not plan to swim.

NOTE:  We have Lap Swimming lanes designated during most Recreation Swim times so that parents and families have the option to exercise while other family members enjoy open Rec Swim.
